Mentees are graduate students or recent PhDs who are interested in logic and who belong to the Target Group, or who can be read as belonging to the Target Group in at least one model, or who have named a need.
Junior Mentors are usually postdoctoral fellows or non-tenured faculty. They mentor, and are mentored, and are encouraged to ask their group for advice on the challenges they are facing, including the challenge of being both junior and a mentor, and the challenge of being told that manageable levels of stress can be healthy.
Senior Mentors are usually permanent faculty. They are mathematicians of any mental-health status, working in logic or in adjacent fields, or in fields that regularly use the word “wellbeing” in a broad sense.
Affiliates are non-voting individuals who publicly support the mission by upholding our Code of Conduct and contributing to our community. This category is suitable for those who do not currently have the capacity to serve as active mentors, graduate students outside the Target Group, members without a statement, neurotypical allies who have completed the Module, and Marvin.
Affiliates are not matched into a mentor group. They receive the Newsletter and invitations to selected activities. They may apply to take a more active role if the Board, upon reflection, likes them.
